Battle of the Bulge
Posted on | March 31, 2009 |
America is battling the bulge on a rampant pace, with no end in sight for the expanding waistline.
No matter how hard someone works out, food is the main integral part to keep a slim waist, and for maintaining a shapely, muscular body. Yes, working out is a major part, but diet is the most essential.
Fruits, vegetables, lean meats, lots of water, whole grains etc are essential to fueling the human body and maintaining your weight and shape.
It’s a no brainer. You eat junk food; you get a body that represents that. You eat healthy and work out, and your body reflects that by having a lean muscular physique.
Easier said than done. The problem is that none of us really have the time to make and prepare healthy meals when we are always on the go. It’s 2009 and we seem to have less time than ever to stick to doing one thing, especially eating well. Between work, the kids, friends, family, the gym, etc, where do you find the time to sit down and hash out a meal plan that will help you to trim down that gut and get in great shape?
Recently, there was an article by Men’s Health regarding America’s Worst Lunches.
It explains how we are focused on “convenience” lunches, and the poor choices we make in eating contribute to our decline in brain power. It also highlights what NOT to get, and what are healthier alternatives.
You may not realize that what you eat has a major effect on the end result of what you are trying to achieve, whether it’s for exercise, sports, or even just a way of life. What you eat will catch up with you. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but it will sooner or later.
