Easter Workout
Posted on | April 12, 2009 |

Today is Easter; the day that Christ was resurrected from the dead after being crucified on the cross to pay for his sins. Families all over get together for a nice brunch, lunch, or dinner, and spend time together being thankful. There may be an Easter egg hunt for the kids, there may be some drinking going on, but one thing is for sure, there is plenty of eating.
I knew this was going to be the case, so I decided to go ahead and get my workout in early this morning. Since I was going to be eating a big meal, (I had salmon, fruits, rice, teriyaki chicken, and an ice cream cookie sandwich for dessert) I decided a cardio focused, timed workout would be what I needed to do to keep my metabolism burning fat for the remainder of the day. Doing a workout like this is essential trying to maintain total fitness and burn fat.
The workout performed today is great if you are trying to lose weight, burn fat, and maintain lean muscle.
One minute Intervals of each exercise were performed for a total of 4 minutes per workout session, followed by one minute of active rest.
Today’s upper body exercises consisted of Clean and press with Push Ups.
Today’s lower body exercises were leg extensions and squats.
Ab exercises were done with one minute of exercise, and one minute of rest, with a total of 5 minutes of total.
It may not seem like a very hard workout, but it served its purpose. I was winded, tired, and my heart rate was at the right level for burning fat. Doing a short 30 minute workout like this can help you to burn fat as long as you are able to do the correct exercises, and not giving yourself too long of rests.
