The Debate about the #2 Middleweight in the world.

I find it hard to believe that Rich Franklin is the #2 middleweight in the world after Anderson Silva. Rich Franklin did have a pretty good reign as the middleweight champ, but seeing the way he stands and fights on his feet is tough to watch. It’s so awkward and unorthodox; his arms just seem to swing like a monkey flailing around, yet he has won 24 out of 27 fights, and his only 3 losses were to Anderson Silva (2) and Lyoto Machida, who is 13-0.
His next fight is against Dan Henderson, the #3 middleweight in the world, yet they are both fighting at Light-Heavyweight. It seems like neither one of them wants to play gatekeeper to Anderson Silva, who has beaten them both, so they have decided to test the waters of an extremely dangerous division.
It’s going to be interesting to see what happens after these 2 men fight. I am guessing they might stay at the higher weight class with the new talent coming into the UFC mix. Someone like 23 year old phenom Geogard Mousasi is a major threat with his superior submission and striking skills, and eventually the UFC will come calling for him. George St Pierre will most likely move up to an Anderson Silva fight after his bought with the champ B.J. Penn. St Pierre has said that he is interested in fighting in both the Middleweight and Light Heavyweight classes. If that is the case, there will be many more exciting years to come for the UFC.
